Ferro Dome Factory transforms Rotterdam’s abandoned harbour into a vibrant district offering a combination of culture, technology, and sustainable office space. The social, architectural, and sustainability aspects turn it into a focal point for collaboration and generation of ideas.

Hub 4 Makers is a multi-functional building that houses events, start-up offices and more. It will be the new center of trendy harbor area M4H in Rotterdam.

The area in between Schiedam and Rotterdam will be converted into a new hotspot for the surrounding neighborhoods. This hotspot is focused on students, starters and young families with the emphasis on the makers.

In this proposal, the area is envisioned as a vibrant neighborhood with a lively square shaped by carefully redeveloped industrial buildings, including the iconic ferro dome. Its open plan is used to its full potential by accommodating a large events venue. An additional building, enclosed by a transparent façade reveals its structure and references the context in subtle ways while also creating a lot of flexible use space for office and commercial use.

Located in Rotterdam, MH4 offers long-lasting values through its rejuvenation by making of quality places. This is achieved by creating a vibrant and healthy urban environment through sustainable developments. Essentially, that is making multi-functional new buildings and renovating the Ferro Terrain in harmony with the neighboring districts.

The Space 4 Makers District is designed to cater to the needs of Rotterdam as a center for business and production. It features a workshop, offices, a gourmet market and short stay residential. The Ferro Dome, located in the Merwe Vierhavens district will function as a congress center to connect the district to the national and international networks.

The FerroOasis is a transformation of the M4H District, which holds an important message of promoting sustainability. Our goal is to create a green urban environment. As well as, creating a place where people from different places would come together and eat.

In the interest of the current global warming situation, the main focus of the project is to achieve a carbon-neutral status. The project aims to create a central point of activity within M4H Rotterdam. By assigning a dynamic and flexible character to the site we both work on the environmental cause, and reflect our vision. To make this possible, the accessibility should be improved by tackling the situations on different scales, from logistics and routing to small nuances of social nature impacting the community.
